These tips are primarily for instructors running an in-person class in one of the HyFlex Classrooms. Following these tips should help everyone have a better Zoom experience.
Enable HD
Zoom may not have the HD setting enabled by default, and HD can mean the difference between a legible or blurry whiteboard.
How to enable HD:
In your Zoom meeting, look for the little arrow next to the Start Video button, click it and choose Video Settings.
Put a check in the Enable HD box.
Zoom Mirrors your own video
Zoom mirrors your own video by default. Remote users always see the normal un-flipped version of your video, but some can find it confusing to see their own screens backward.
How to turn it off:
Use the same steps as above for enabling HD and this time un-check the Mirror my video box.
You should only have to do these steps once on each classroom computer you’re using.
TA’s joining your classroom Zoom
You can add TA’s to your class, which will allow them to join your classroom Zoom meetings as a co-host, but before they can join, they need to activate their Stonehill Zoom accounts.
How to have TA’s activate their Stonehill Zoom account:
TA’s need to go to https://stonehill.zoom.us and click the Sign in button, then use their Stonehill email address and password. Once they have successfully logged in, they are activated.
