HyFlex Equipment in Meehan 240

Summary

HyFlex classrooms are outfitted with technology for remote instruction and lecture capture, and this classroom uses the Extron Touch Panel, mounted on the podium, to control the HyFlex equipment input (PC or Laptop).

HyFlex classrooms are outfitted with technology for remote instruction and lecture capture, and this classroom uses the Extron Touch Panel, mounted to the instructor podium, to control the HyFlex equipment. 

Please note that only the instructor's PC on the podium can utilize the HyFlex equipment in this classroom. 

HyFlex Equipment

Camera

Each HyFlex room has a pan/tilt/zoom camera mounted to the wall toward the back of the classroom.

Microphones

In Meehan 240, microphones are mounted to the ceiling. These microphones capture both the instructor's voice and the students' voices.

Camera Presets on Touch Panel

The camera has three preset settings. To select a different preset, please follow the instructions below.

  1. To adjust the camera setting, select Camera on the touch panel located at the bottom - center. There are three preset settings for the camera. 
  2. To navigate the camera to a different position, you can pan, tilt, and zoom. To pan the camera, select the left or right directional control button.
  3. To tilt the camera, select the up or down directional control button.
  4. Select the (+) button or the (-) button to zoom in or out. 

HyFlex Equipment with Microsoft Teams

Follow these instructions to ensure Microsoft Teams is configured correctly to use the HyFlex equipment. 

  1. Launch the Microsoft Teams desktop application and click on the Three Dots in the top-right corner of the screen. Then, select Settings from the drop-down menu.

  2. On the Settings [1] screen, select Devices [2] from the column.

  3. Under the Audio Settings, make certain the Speaker [3] is set to SONY PJ (Intel(R) Display Audio) and the Microphone [4] is set to Line (DMP128 Plus USB#2) 1ce2:0101).
     
  4. Scroll down to the Video Settings, and make sure the Camera [5] is set to Quick-Connect USB. A video Preview [6] of the camera image will display at the bottom of the screen.

HyFlex Equipment with Panopto

  1. Launch Panopto and select the Create New Recording button [1]  in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

  2. From the drop-down menu next to Video on the left side of the screen, select Quick-Connect USB [2].
     
  3. From the drop-down menu next to Audio select Line (DMP 128 Plus USB#2) [3]. 
     
  4. To verify that the microphone is working properly, say something, and you will see activity on the volume meter [4]. To adjust the volume, move the vertical volume control bar [5].

HyFlex Equipment with Zoom

Follow these instructions to ensure Zoom is configured correctly to use the HyFlex equipment. 

  1. Log into Zoom and click on the Gear Icon to access Settings

  2. Select Video [1] from the column to access the Video Settings and ensure the Camera [2] drop-down menu is set to Quick-Connect USB. You will see a video Preview [3] at the top of the window.

  3. Select Audio [4] from the column to access the Audio Settings
