Run an Accessibility check in Word
- In an open Word document select File.
- Under the Info tab select Check for Issues.
- Select Check for Accessibility on the drop-down menu.
- The Word document will run a check and the inspection results will show on the right side of the Word document.
- The results will show Errors, Warnings, and Tips on how to make the Word document more accessible.
- You can select each Error, Warning, or Tip and it will take you right to the area of the word document that needs fixing.
- Below the results is additional information on why the Error needs fixing and steps to fix it.
Save a Word Document as an Accessible PDF
- In an open Word document select File.
- Select Save A Copy.
- Choose your save location, give the Document a name, and In the drop-down menu change the type to PDF.
- Select More Options below the drop-down menu
- Before Saving select the Options button.
- Make sure the Document Structure Tags For Accessibility box is checked.
- Click Ok then Save.
