One Button Studio Instructions

Summary

The One Button Studio provides students, faculty, and staff with easy-to-use video recording equipment for self-service recordings related to academic work. The studio can be booked by faculty, staff, and students for a variety of purposes, including class assignments, practicing presentations and capturing lectures for viewing online.

Reserving the One Button Studio

  1. You must first reserve the One Button Studio by selecting a date and time using the following resource-  https://libcal.stonehill.edu/reserve/msb  

Set up the Recording

  1. Press the Display On button to activate the Camera, Lights, Shades, and Monitors.
  2. Select the Room PC if you are presenting with the TV monitor. If using your Laptop connect it via the HDMI cable and then select Laptop.
  3. The chosen input will display on the TV. If the PC is off, open the cabinet and turn it on (it is the small square PC on the very bottom shelf of the podium).
  4. Choose between Camera Preset 1 and Camera Preset 2 for your preferred camera positioning. The monitor on podium will show the camera shot
  5. You can make adjustments to the zoom and positioning of the camera with the remote if needed. . The tv can be moved out of the shot if you are not presenting any content.

Recording

  1. Recording can done via Panopto. Login to https://stonehill.hosted.panopto.com and navigate to your My Folder from the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the purple Create button and choose Panopto for Windows.
  3. Click Launch Panopto and sign-in when prompted.
  4. Make sure Video is set to Quick-Connect USB and Audio is set to Echo Cancelling Speakerphone. Set Quality to High.
  5. If you are only doing video, uncheck both Secondary Sources.
  6. If you are showing slides, select Capture Powerpoint ​​​​​​ Capture Main Screen 
  7. , Click Record to start the Panopto recording.
  8. When done, log off the PC and press the Display Off button to shut off the equipment. Leave the door unlocked when you leave.
