What is OneDrive?

Microsoft’s cloud storage solution, OneDrive, gives you unlimited storage space for College-related documents that you can access from anywhere. You can open documents on your phone or tablet, access them from the web, or share them with others.

You can also store your Office documents in OneDrive and easily edit them using Office 365 in your web browser. 

Accessing your OneDrive

  1. Login to Office 365.
  2. Select the App Picker in the top, left-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Select the OneDrive tile from the list of apps that display.

Uploading Documents

  1. Locate the file/s you want to upload in windows explorer.
  2. Drag the file/s into the OneDrive website in the Drop here box.

  1. Click on the Upload icon.
  2. Browse and select the file you would like to upload.
  3. Click on the Open button.

  1. Hover over the file you want to download and click on the ". . ." icon.
  2. Select Download.

  1. Click the Upload Icon.
  2. Select Folder.
  3. Locate the folder you wish to upload and select it.
  4. Click Ok.

The Sync Client

Installing the Client

OneDrive Sync Client Setup for Mac

  1. From the App Store on your Mac, search for OneDrive and then click on the GET button, and then click the INSTALL APP button to begin downloading and installing the OneDrive application. 
  2. Enter your Apple ID and Password into the corresponding fields at the Sign in to download from the App Store window, and then click the Sign In button.
    • Please note: This is NOT your Stonehill username and password. This is the email address and password you use to purchase Apps from the App Store and digital media from the iTunes store. If you do not have an Apple ID, please select the Create Apple ID button and follow the prompts to set up your account with Apple. 
    • Please review this Apple ID Support page for more information.
  3. The OneDrive app will download and install.
  4. Navigate to your Applications folder and double-click on the OneDrive application.
  5. At the Set up OneDrive window, enter your Stonehill email address and click on the Sign In button.
  6. At the Office 365 window, enter your Stonehill password in the following window and then click on the Sign In button.
  7. At the This is Your OneDrive Folder window, click on the Choose OneDrive Folder Location button. 
  8. In the Choose a location for your OneDrive folder window that displays, leave the Home folder for the user account you're signed in as selected and then click on the Choose this location button.
  9. The path to your One Drive folder will be displayed in the This Is Your OneDrive Folder window. Click the Next button.
  10. At the Sync Files from Your OneDrive window, you can choose what you want to download to your OneDrive - Stonehill College folder:
    • Leaving the All files and folder on my OneDrive radio button selected will sync all of the files in your OneDrive down to your Mac.
    • Selecting the Choose folders to sync radio button allows you to select which OneDrive files and folders sync down to your Mac.
    • Make your selection from either option and then click the Next button.
  11. At the Your OneDrive Is Ready For You window, place a check in the check-box where it says Open at login so my files sync automatically, then click on the Open my OneDrive - Stonehill College folder button.
  12. A new finder window will open and displaying the contents of your OneDrive - Stonehill College folder.

Mobile apps

OneDrive for Business apps are available for iOS, Android and Windows:

  • iOS users can download the OneDrive app from the Apple App Store
  • Android users can download the Office Mobile app from Google Play, which includes OneDrive for Business
  • Windows Phone users can download the OneDrive app from the Windows App Store
