Manually Setting Up the Authenticator App

Summary

Steps for setting up Authenticator either on-campus or with an already-trusted device.

Body

If you want to set up the Authenticator app for your Stonehill account on a new device, but aren't seeing any automatic prompts upon login because you're either on-campus or have an already-trusted device, follow these steps!

Note: If you got a new phone and you have already wiped or gotten rid of your old one before setting MFA up on the new one, you will need to verify your identity with the Service Desk either in-person or via video call to get you back into your account.

  1. Using any modern browser, log in to myHill and select the View account link found under your photo or initials in the top right hand side of myHill. Under Security Info, click the Update Info link to manage your MFA settings.

Please note: You may be asked to complete additional verification on this page; even if you are on campus.

  2. Select the Add sign-in method button.

  3. Then choose Microsoft Authenticator on the next pop up

  4. From here, you can follow the prompts or follow the standard process for setting up the Authenticator app.
