Publishing Your Course in Canvas (Formerly Opening Your Course in eLearn)

By default, your Canvas course is set to private and not visible to students. Once you are ready to make your course content visible, you must Publish the course to allow student access. You can publish your course from the Dashboard or the Course Home Page sidebar.

Publish in the Dashboard

1. Locate the Unpublished Courses section in the Dashboard.
2. Find the course you want to publish and click the Publish button.

Publish in the Course Home Page Sidebar

1. In Global Navigation, click the Courses link.
2. Your courses will be organized by published courses and unpublished courses.  Click your course.
3. The course status displays in the Course Home Page sidebar, click Publish.
