Publishing Your Course in Canvas

By default, your Canvas course is set to private and not visible to students. Once you are ready to make your course content visible, you must Publish the course to allow student access.

You can publish your course from the Dashboard or the Course Home Page sidebar.

Publish in the Dashboard

  1. Locate the Unpublished Courses section in the Dashboard.
  2. Find the course you want to publish and click the Publish button.

Accessing Past Courses

Terms in Canvas start two weeks prior to the first day of classes and run until 30 days after the last day of finals. Once the Term ends, courses are considered concluded and enter a read-only state.  If you have students with an incomplete that need to finish coursework beyond the 30 days, email service-desk@stonehill.edu and we can extend the course duration for them.

To view past courses:

  1. In Global Navigation, click the Courses link.
  2. Click All Courses.
  3. Previous courses will be listed under the Past Enrollments section.
