HyFlex Equipment in Clear Touch Classrooms

Clear Touch HyFlex classrooms are outfitted with technology for remote instruction and lecture capture.

HyFlex Equipment

Camera

Each HyFlex room has a pan/tilt/zoom camera mounted to the wall toward the back of the classroom.

Microphone

There is also a USB microphone/speakerphone, and with ClearTouch, a microphone is also located in the soundbar beneath the ClearTouch.

Some ClearTouch classrooms may have an AVer Speakerphone.

Camera Presets & Remote

There are 4 preset settings for the camera.  To select a different preset from the remote, click the button with the Camera icon [1].

To navigate the camera to a different position, you can pan, tilt, and zoom.  To pan the camera, select the left or right directional control buttons [2] near the top of the remote.  To tilt the camera, select the up or down directional control buttons [2].  To zoom in or out, select the magnifying glass (+) button [3] to zoom in or the magnifying glass (-) button [4] to zoom out.

If the camera is not responding, the incorrect camera may be selected.  To select the proper camera, press the number 1 button [5] at the top of the remote under Camera Select. 

 

HyFlex Equipment with Microsoft Teams

  1. Click on the Three Dots [1] in the top-right corner of the screen, and select Settings [2] from the dropdown menu.

  2. On the Settings side menu [3], select Devices [4].

  3. Under the Audio Settings [5], make sure both the Speaker [6] and Microphone [7] dropdown menus are set to Echo Cancelling Speakerphone
     
  4. Scroll down to the Video Settings [8], and make sure the Camera dropdown menu [9] is set to AVer CAM520 Pro.

  5. You will see a Preview window at the bottom of the screen [10], indicating successful selection.

HyFlex Equipment with Zoom

Follow these instructions to ensure Zoom is configured correctly to use the HyFlex equipment. 

  1. Log into Zoom.
  2. Select Settings in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

  3. Select Video [1] from the column on the left.

  4. From the drop-down menu next to Camera in the center of the screen, select Aver VC520Pro [2].
     
  5. Select Audio [3] from the column on the left.

  6. From the drop-down menu next to Speaker select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone [4]. 
    1. To verify the speaker is working properly, select Test Speaker [5]. You should hear audio after this button is selected. The volume control should be to the right. 
       
  7. From the drop-down menu next to Microphone select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone [6]. 
  8. To verify the microphone is working properly, select Test Mic [7]. Say something to test. After you pause you should hear what you said from the speaker.

HyFlex Equipment with Panopto

  1. Launch Panopto and select the Create New Recording button [1]  in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

  2. From the drop-down menu next to Video on the left side of the screen, select Aver VC520Pro [2].
  3. From the drop-down menu next to Audio select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone [3]. 
  4. To verify the microphone is working properly say something and you will see activity on the volume meter [4].  To adjust the volume, move the vertical volume control bar [5].
