Airserver-Wireless iOS Projection

AirServer is installed on all the instructor workstation computers in classrooms and labs allowing instructors to mirror their iPad, Mac laptop and iPhone (Android phones as well) for wireless projection purposes. AirServer also supports multiple simultaneous connections, so one or more students can mirror their iPads or iPhones to share their ideas and their work with the rest of the class.

Stream your iOS device to the room projector

  1. Log on to the instructor computer and double-click the Airserver icon located on the desktop. Airserver will launch. ( To verify Airserver is running, check the Windows Taskbar for the AirServer icon near the system clock.)Image of the AirServer icon in the taskbar, which looks like a rectangle with a triangle coming out of the top
  2. Confirm you are connected to hillspot on your device. You must be on the same network as the instructor PC for mirroring to work.
  3. For iPads/iPhones, open the Control Center.  For MacBook Pro's, click the Airplay icon in the taskbar next to the Wifi indicator.  Android phones vary: try swiping down to reveal the notifications area and look for the Cast option.
  4. Select the Screen Mirroring option Image of the Screen mirroring icon in iOS, which looks like two rectangles, one staggered on top of the other.
  5. Choose the computer name, listed by room number. (e.g. C-D205 for Duffy 205 classroom; L-D11500 for Duffy 115 Lab, etc.). You might have to scroll to find the room's computer name.
  6. Swipe to enable Mirroring.
  7. A four-digit code will now be generated by AirServer and display on the computer screen. Type that code in the box that appears on the device and click OK. This will ensure your session is private.  Note: Android devices are not presented with a security code.
  8. Your iPad will now mirror to the instructor computer.
  9. Project the instructor computer using the classroom controls.
  10. When finished, you can open the Control Center again, go into the Airplay option, and swipe to disable mirroring.

If the classroom machine name will not appear, there is a free app you can install on your iOS device called Air Server Connect.  Once installed, click the Airserver icon on the classroom PC and choose Scan QR Code.  A QR code will display on the screen, open the Air Server Connect app on your iOS device and scan the QR code, that should then add the classroom device to the Screen Mirroring list.  You can then retry the above steps starting at Step 3.
