Wi-Fi Calling (make calls over Wi-Fi, even with no cell signal!)

Wi-Fi Calling is a feature that most smartphones and carriers already provide, which allows you to make calls and send text messages from anywhere you have a Wi-Fi connection. This is especially useful in places where you may have poor or no cell reception.

Here are the two most common ways to access Wi-Fi Calling:

  • iOS – Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling
  • Android – Settings > Advanced Calling

Wi-Fi Calling won't use up any of your mobile data, but it may still count against your talk minutes, depending on the specifics of your plan. Be sure to check your provider's website (T-MobileAT&T, Verizon) for carrier-specific details and additional setup instructions.
