Run an Accessibility check in Word
- In an open Word document select File.
- Under the Info tab select Check for Issues.
- Select Check for Accessibility on the drop-down menu.
- The Word document will run a check and the inspection results will show on the right side.
- The results will show various accessibility categories on how to make the document more accessible.
- Any issues detected will have a number next to it, select the issue for guidance on how to address it.
- Save the document after addressing each issue.
Save a Word Document as an Accessible PDF
- In an open Word document select File.
- Select Save As.
- Give the Document a name, and In the drop-down menu change the type to PDF.
- Select More Options below the drop-down menu
- Choose a save location, and give the file a name. Before Saving select the Options button.
- Make sure the Document Structure Tags For Accessibility box is checked.
- Click Ok then Save.
Run an Accessibility check in PowerPoint
- In an open PowerPoint presentation select Review.
- Select Check Accessibility.
- The PowerPoint presentation will run a check and the inspection results will show on the right side.
- The results will show various accessibility categories on how to make the presentation more accessible.
- Any issues detected will have a number next to it, select the issue for guidance on how to address it.
- Save the document after addressing each issue.
