Quick Sets

Quick Sets are pre-programmed functions that can be saved as a preset job, allowing you to launch them from the home screen with a single touch. This can make performing frequently-used tasks much faster and easier.

Note: Anyone can create Quick Sets from the device's touchscreen, but only administrators can edit or delete Quick Sets once created. So take special care when creating Quick Sets, and if you make a mistake or otherwise want to edit or delete an existing Quick Set, contact the IT Service Desk.

Creating Quick Sets

Any job which displays the Quick Sets Load/Save buttons at the bottom of its configuration options page can be saved as a Quick Set:

For this example, we'll be using one of the most commonly used functions: scan to email to a particular recipient.

  1. From the home screen, tap the Scan to Email icon. The scanning configuration screen appears.
  2. Tap the contacts button to the right of the To field to begin searching the address book for a recipient.

  3. Tap the magnifying glass at the top-right of the screen, and use the on-screen keyboard to begin searching for a recipient by last name. Search results will appear below. Select the desired recipient(s), then tap the Add button at the bottom-right to add them to the To field.

Alternatively, you can simply tap inside the To field itself, and use the on-screen keyboard to search for recipients. Tap a desired name when it appears to add it to the field

  4. If desired, tap the Options button to configure additional settings. Remember that these settings will be used every time the Quick Set is launched, so we recommend leaving these options as-is, since options such as color vs black-and-white will be automatically detected.

  5. Once the desired recipient(s) are set, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Save at the bottom-left. This will bring up Quick Set options on the right-side panel, where you should:
    • Give the Quick Set an appropriate name (this will appear on the button on the home screen to use the Quick Set).
    • If desired, check the box to Start instantly when selected from the Home Screen. This will make the job execute with a single tap from the home screen. Left unchecked, the Quick Set will simply load up the pre-configured options, but allow them to be changed before sending the job.

  6. Once finished, the Quick Set will now appear as a button under the Quick Sets menu on the home screen.
