Adding a network printer on Windows

Attention: These instructions are for Stonehill-owned computers only. If you are printing from a personal device, you must use Mobility Print instead.

  1. On your Stonehill-owned Windows 10 computer, click on the Start button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.
  2. Type "run" and open the "Run" app that appears in the results.
  3. In the dialog box that appears, type in the following (without the quotes): "\\print"
    1. Press Enter on your keyboard or click OK.
  4. This will pop up a list of all the networked printers on campus, organized by department name. If you change your view mode to Details view, you'll be able to see printer locations as well as model numbers in the Comments column.
  5. Double-click on the printer you would like to add to your computer.
  6. The printer queue window will appear after the printer has been successfully added. You should now be able to select this printer when printing a document.
  7. To make this printer your default, navigate to Start menu > Control Panel
    • Under Hardware and Sound select View Devices and Printers.
    • Right-Click printer then select Set as Default Printer.
