IT has made the latest version of Windows 10 that has been tested and approved by IT (22H2) available to existing Windows 10 users. The update can be found in the Update & Security section within Settings. This "feature update" is required to ensure your computer remains protected by staying current with Microsoft's security updates as they are released.
It is highly recommended that you install this update at the earliest time that is most convenient for you. Please note that depending on the specifications of your computer, this update may take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to complete. Therefore, we recommend installing it at the end of the day before you head home, so as to not affect your work (make sure to set your Sleep settings to "Never", at least temporarily, so the install doesn't get interrupted after you leave).
How to install
This 22H2 Windows Feature Update will be available to install directly from the Windows Updates screen.
- Get there by selecting the Start button > Settings > Update & Security
By default, Microsoft Updates will be available after IT receives and tests the updates. Once the 22H2 Windows Feature Update is available, you will see it in this window. Simply select the day and time to run the installation.

After Updates Install
After the 22H2 Windows Feature Update has been installed, you will see a notification appear stating that you can either Restart Now, Restart Tonight, or Pick a Time. It’s important to note that you will have 7 days to schedule the restart to finish configuring Windows Updates on your own, or the deadline will be reached and Windows will attempt to reboot your computer even during the day.
We strongly recommend taking a few moments to schedule a reboot time if you aren’t ready to reboot your computer. If you dismiss this notification and don’t choose one of these options, Windows will automatically try to reboot your computer overnight.
