Overview

Domain names for any name ending in stonehill.edu as well as other domain names purchased for Stonehill College are maintained by IT.

Features

• The Domain Name System (DNS) is like a directory for the Internet.
• IT staff maintain the College's DNS entries in both an internal and external DNS server.
• Domain names are used to resolve a name (e.g. www.stonehill.edu) to it's IP address, which provides a pointer for where it is located.
• Domain names are assigned to online services like a learning management system, web site or an email server.
• Requests for new domain names are evaluated according to Policy F9.6 Domain Name.

Getting Started

• Staff or faculty may submit a Domain Name Request for a new name or to modify or remove an existing name.  To do so please select Request a Domain Name in the upper right hand corner of this page.
