Overview

The telephone system enables internal and external voice communication using Teams Phone to meet the needs of the College.

Features

  • Four digit dialing is enabled for calls within the campus.
  • Local and long distance calls may be placed from faculty, staff and department extensions and shared telephones in common areas.
  • International dialing is enabled to support an academic or business need.
  • Desk telephones are provided based on individual preference.  Note that desk telephones are assigned to a location and do not move.
  • The Teams desktop and mobile app may be used for calling in addition to or instead of a desk telephone.
  • Call coverage options allow departments to customize how incoming calls should be handled and are configured through Calls settings in the Teams apps.
  • Auto attendants may be configured for a department upon request to provide a series of choices to a caller.
  • Dynamic E911 is enabled in Teams Phone to provide the caller's location information whether the call originates from a desk phone or the Teams app on a wired or wireless network connection.

Getting Started

  • Faculty and staff are assigned a telephone extension based on their job when employment begins at Stonehill.
  • Affiliates may receive a telephone extension based on a request from their department sponsor and a demonstrated academic or business need.
