Overview

Setup of equipment, such as microphones and podiums, are provided by professional staff who may also staff events requiring complex technology configurations and sound engineering.

Faculty, Staff, Student Groups with a Faculty or Staff Sponsor

Features

  • Support for larger events which typically take place in auditoriums or large event venues (e.g. Open Houses, Graduations, Awards Dinners, Concerts, Student Productions, etc.) includes:
    • support with setup and rehearsals before the event
    • sound engineering and technical support during the event
    • video recording may be provided for certain events. For more information see our Video Production service.
  • Support for medium-sized events includes setting up microphones, speakers, podiums, screens, laptops, and projectors for meetings or events in various locations around campus. These events do not typically require staff support, though it can be requested.
  • Support for small-scale events includes setting up a microphone and podium in smaller venues.

Getting Started

  • Submit a request for space with Conference and Events using 25Live when reserving a space for a meeting or event.  Request technology needs, equipment setups, and media staffing under "Resources.” 
  • Request a setup or staffing for any room not scheduled through Conference and Events (e.g. a departmental conference room) by submitting a request form. Click the "Request Service" button on the right side of this page to get started with the form.
  • For more information on planning an event, see Media Support Guidelines for Event Planners in our Knowledge Base, which includes the following deadlines for scheduling events:
    • Large scale events - 30 days’ notice.
    • Medium-sized events - 14 days’ notice.
    • Small scale events - 7 days’ notice.
