Microsoft Teams

Overview

Microsoft Teams enables departments, organizations, or groups of people to improve productivity with the ability to share documents, communicate, and much more.  

Available To

Faculty, Staff, Students and Affiliates with an Office365 account 

Features

  • A Team provides its members with an email distribution list, threaded discussion channels, shared document folders, and shared apps.  
  • The Teams environment also provides video conferencing with anyone who uses Teams at Stonehill and beyond.  
  • Anyone at Stonehill can use use Teams chat, audio calls, or video conferencing; you don’t have to belong to a Team to take advantage of these features.
  • Participate in Team discussions by posting to threaded conversations within Team channels  
  • Share documents, spreadsheets and other files using the Team’s shared storage space, which looks and functions the same as your OneDrive.  
  • Collaborate and share information via the Team's OneNote Notebook.  
  • Use the Teams client to access your Outlook calendar and organize your communication with others at Stonehill through persistent chat and online meetings  
  • Note that existing Office 365 Groups can be converted to a Team by completing the request form  
  • Note that the Audio Call feature in Teams supports communication between Stonehill users but cannot be used for calls to an external party.

Getting Started

  • Leaders from departments, organizations, or a group needing to collaborate may request a Microsoft Team through the request form on this page. 
  • If you would like a Team for your class, you can create it through Canvas.
